Thomas' Trek For SIDS
Description
This Virtual 5K race is in memory of our son Thomas Joseph who passed away unexpectedly at 2.5 months old. He was a happy healthy thriving little boy that went to bed and didn't wake up. As unlucky as we are, we were very fortunate to be located just minutes from Boston Children's Hospital where we were immediately set up with The Robert's Program. This program helps families understand the reasons for their child's death while also supporting them through counseling. Their program involves clinicians and scientists from a dozen different fields while also working collaboratively with the Medical Examiners, Coroners and Local Pediatricians. This program is run off of donations alone and doesn't charge the families affected by SUDP, SIDS, or SUDC a dime. I don't know what we would have done without this program and I can't imagine these families having to go it alone. We hope to be able to donate to this program yearly through Thomas' Trek for SIDS walk. To help keep The Robert's Program open till no other parent has to suffer from a tragedy like this again.
