Description
The Autism Acceptance 5K is a Senior Project with the goal of raising funds to support the Autistic Self Advocacy Network (ASAN). ASAN's aim is to promote rights and access for people with autism, as well as to facilitate acceptance and understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder. The race is a walk/run that includes varied terrain and elevation; due to some wooded trails it is not wheelchair accessible. All race participants are encouraged to reach out to family and friends for additional donations that can be made through this site to ASAN. April is Autism Acceptance month, so get out there and make a difference by participating in this fun charity event!
Place
vehicles in the right hand student parking lot by the performance arts entrance. Registration will be in the athletic entrance lobby and we would like to keep the corresponding parking lot clear for the safety of participants and spectators.

Got Kids?
- Parents - don't worry if you have children too young to participate in this event, that shouldn't stop you from running! Bring your kids to the race and when you sign in they can be dropped off in the gym to play supervised games while you get your 5K on!
What About After the Race?
Stick around after the race to grab some water as you cheer on other participants crossing the finish line! This is also a great time to pick up some informational brochures about autism and read the fun fact signs around the athletic entrance parking lot you may have missed previously.
Additional Pre and Post Race Info
Please park all vehicles in the student parking lot by the High School Performing Arts Entrance. If this lot fills, please park at the Boys & Girls Club on Great Rd or continue to the Crowe Park Lot at Green Meadow. The race goes through the middle school so do not park your vehicle at Fowler. The entrances to the school system will be barricaded by the DPW at 8:45 to ensure runners' safety, so if you arrive past that time please park at the Boys & Girls Club and walk to the high school (it's not a long walk, I promise).
Sign in and day of registration will commence at 7 am and will go until 8:50, with the race kicking off at 9. The High School entrance will be unblocked at approximately 9:30 am, and the Green Meadow entrance will remain blocked to control traffic flow as participants finish.
However, remember to stick around after you finish to celebrate with other participants, cheer on runners, get a drink, and listen to some music!
