Description
Join us for this year's 5K Race for Recovery on September 16, 2018 at the Bangor Waterfront. Last year our sponsors and participants raised over $20,000! We hope to exceed that this year! Join us for the fun event as a way to celebrate recovery, show your support, generate hope, reduce stigma, and offer living proof that recovery is real!
This year's race has added a new feature! In addition to being able to register as an individual walker or runner, there is the option to register a group of your family or friends as a team. We are encouraging families and friends and non-profit service organizations and local businesses to create a team and come out and show your support for Recovery! Show us your unique style! Teams will be awarded prizes for originality, passion, color, and fun! Signs are welcome! Think: "We support Recovery!" or "Walking to support those who passed away this year" or "In memory of...." Themes might include: "Superheros for Recovery!" or "Star Track Nerds for Recovery" "Recovery: Boldly Going Where Many Have Gone Before!" You get the idea!
Funds that you or your team raise will go to support the work of Wellspring Inc., a non-profit organization providing addiction treatment services in Maine for 50 years! Please tell everyone about this race where anyone can walk or run; donate to the event; register and participate; form a team; or volunteer on the day of the Race.
Help us show that recovery is real—and that the joyful solidarity of all of us can provide hope to others. Let's reduce the stigma of the disease of addiction! Show your support by coming to the event. It's a great opportunity to celebrate National Recovery Month; honor people and organizations that provide services for the recovery community; honor those who have not survived this disease; and raise funds for Wellspring Inc!
