FAQ
May my athlete would like to participate in a different level than their Goldfish Level, is that okay?
YES, your athlete may participate in any level of Splash N Dash if they would like! We encourage your athlete to challenge themselves!
What time should I arrive?
7:50 AM, the event will begin promptly at 8:00 AM. This will allow you and your athlete to check-in with our Front Desk Staff and get your lane assignments for the in-water and running portions. Students will also be split into small ‘heats’ to ensure controlled traffic in the pool. All of this information will be at the Front Desk, or find the nearest staff person in a Goldfish T-Shirt to help!
Where should I park?
Please park in front of ACE Hardware as we will be roping off the parking lot in front of our store to use as our race track.
What should I bring?
Please make sure your athlete has their swimsuit, goggles, towel AND their running shoes. You may take the time to change into a new outfit for running, but we recommend having your athlete put on a pair of running shorts and their shoes and head right to the course!
What should I expect?
FUN! This event is based on completion and is designed to introduce students to the world of multi-sport competitions. All children will compete in the water first, and will be called on the pool deck by a course Marshalls. Following the swimming portion, if they would like, your child may change outfits, and then head outside to the starting line to begin running. Our running course Marshalls will assist runners with lanes and can help keep track of laps.
What strokes should my athlete use for the swimming portion?
Athletes must use windmill arms with rollovers if they are Glider Striders, and USA Freestyle and USA Backstroke if they are Track Stars-Pro and Rec Team Runners.
Will there be lifeguards in the water/on the pool deck?
YES! Safety is our top priority; we will have one of our lifeguard certified instructors in each lane of the pool as well as a lifeguard on duty patrolling the pool deck.
Will there be a first-aid station on the course?
YES! We will have first-aid certified instructors outside at table with kits ready, just in case.
What does my athlete do when the event is over?
Have your athlete go to the prize and snack table! Each child will receive a certificate and a prize bag for their hard-work. We will also provide post-race snacks to help your athlete re-fuel after a job-well done!
What time will my athlete be done with his/hers event?
This depends on your individual athlete and what event the registered for. We have allowed for one hour for athletes to complete the two events. We anticipate most athletes will complete the events within 30-45 minutes, and we will begin cleaning up the event at 9AM.
