Thumb Virtual 5K Series

Description

The Bad Axe, EPBP Lakers, and Ubly Cross Country programs are proud to present the Thumb Virtual 5K Race Series. Due to Covid-19 and races being cancelled all over, we have come together to put on this virtual race series as a way to get out and do some exercise and as a fundraiser for our respective Cross Country programs.

This will be a 3 race series with each race being held 2 weeks apart. You will have a 3 day window to complete your race and submit your time. During signup if you choose to accept email notifications, you will be sent a reminder to run and submit your results as well before each race.

For every participant that completes ALL 3 races in the series, they will be mailed a custom medal for your efforts as show below.

The cost to enter will be $10 per race or save on processing fees by signing up for all 3 races at once for $30 with our bundle option. Please help us by joining our race series. We know that these are tough times, but your $30 fee or any other donation will greatly help with our Cross Country programs.

Custom Medal

Here is the custom medal that will be awarded to every participant that completes ALL 3 of the virtual races. The medal will come with a neck ribbon as well and will be mailed out sometime in the few weeks after the final race has concluded. Special thanks to BARC (Bay Area Runners Club) for the donation for these medals.

Ubly 5K Route for Virtual Race

Hello everyone, for anyone that wants to do this virtual race but would still perhaps like some people to race against, I am having a get together Sunday, July 5 at 8:00am at Ubly Veterans Park to have an unofficial race. I have come up with a simple out and back course that starts and finishes at the park, but will go out to the streets of Ubly and along Main Street to M-19 and out to the water tower and back. You can see the route with map below.

There is only one Porta John at the park and this race would not have refreshments available or be officially timed. I will plan to setup a race clock so you can still see what your time is if you don't time yourself. I will also post arrow signs on the corners and for anyone that does show up, they will be given a generic medal for coming out to participate.

Even if you did not sign up to do this Virtual race Series, you can still come out and do this and earn yourself a medal. Of course if you are signed up for the virtual series, you can do this and submit that as your virtual time too.

I hope to see some people there. This in person "get together" will be free of charge, but of course any donations would be greatly appreciated to help the Ubly Cross Country Program.
