Wolverines on the Run

The University of Michigan-Dearborn Wishmakers organization presents their 4th annual Halloween 5k on campus. All funds and proceeds will be donated to Make-A-Wish foundation for kids who are suffering from life threatening diseases. Every year the UM-Dearborn Wishmakers host events year round in order to raise enough money to grant a child's wish to come true. This 5k will be held on the University of Michigan-Dearborn campus behind the University Center. Check-in for the 5k will begin around 3:00 PM and the 5k race will begin around 4:00 PM. Our Halloween 5k encourages participants to show up in costumes, as there are prizes that will be given out for best costume and for the top three 5k winners. Activities such as pumpkin carving, pumpkin painting, face painting, and other games will occur. We will be having music throughout the event and a stage in order to present winners and share some words about the UMD Wishmakers' purpose and appreciation for all participants attending and helping out. Food will be included and sponsored by Picasso. During the 5k event, we will also be having a Luminaria ceremony to remember those who have lost their lives to cancer and other diseases. Participants interested in this event can purchase tickets for $20 per person, or $15 for a group of 4+ individuals; kids aged 0-4 years are free of charge; kids aged 5-12 are charged $12 each.
