Join Humane Society of West Michigan for the 9th annual Bark in the Dark on Saturday, October 2nd at Riverside Park! All proceeds from this family & dog friendly 5K and 1 Mile fun run/walk benefits animals in need at Humane Society of West Michigan, a 100% donor-funded 501(c)3 nonprofit that promotes the humane treatment and responsible care of animals in West Michigan through education, example, placement, and protection. Participants have the opportunity to raise additional donations to support these animals.
5:00pm-6:30pm - Registration/Check-In & Pre-Run Festivities including a photo booth, face painting, giveaways, the Independent Bank Costume Contest, and more!
6:30pm - Run/Walk begins!
6:45pm-9:00pm - After the run/walk stick around for our post-race celebration featuring a beer tent, food trucks, and great music by DJ Shannon Williams! Each registered adult will receive a free drink at the beer tent. Friends & family will be able to purchase beverages using cash or card. Don't forget your ID!
Once you register for Bark in the Dark you will be prompted to create an online fundraising page to collect donations from friends and family online. We encourage you to customize it with a picture of you and your furry friend, and let people know why you are fundraising to support HSWM animals! You can then share your fundraising page with friends & family on social media and through email. The dollars that you raise make a huge impact on our animals here in West Michigan! Fundraisers who reach one of the following levels will receive special HSWM apparel as a thank you! Fundraisers can claim their prizes at the check in table on the day of the event.
$50 - HSWM Bumper Sticker
$150 - Long Sleeve Shirt
$250 - Sweatshirt
$500 - Duffle bag filled with goodies, plus your choice of a long sleeve shirt or sweatshirt
