Run like the world is watching! Cap off the 2023 One in Five Series with a worldwide event that makes a difference for mental health across the globe: the World Mental Health Day Virtual 5K/10K. We’re ending the stigma, we’re taking action, and we’re letting people from all over the world know that mental health matters. It all starts with you, right where you are, running or walking a 5K or 10K for mental health.
World Mental Health Day is Monday, October 10 – but you can log your run/walk anytime between October 1-10. Your registration comes with a shirt, a medal, and the chance to make a difference on a global scale.
Nearly 60% of mental illness goes untreated, and depression is the top cause of illness and disability worldwide. One in five will face a mental illness in any given year. With everything going on, these numbers only grow. The 1 in 5 is us and the people we love – and together, we can make a difference. Each participant will have the opportunity to create their own fundraising page when they register and invite friends and family to support their World Mental Health Day run/walk!
Each registrant for the World Mental Health Day Virtual 5K/10K will receive a race shirt and medal. In order to keep costs down and proceeds going toward supporting mental health, we’ll be sending the shirts and medals out all at once after the event. Depending on where you are, we hope to have those in your hands within a few weeks of the event.
The Hope Network One in Five Series is a collection of races and challenges to get people moving for mental health. One in five adults will face a mental illness in any given year, and that number is growing. Wherever you live, it’s all around you – and the numbers prove it:
When you join a One in Five Series event, you address the issue head-on by becoming part of a global community committed to turning the conversation about mental health issues into action. That’s what the One in Five Series is all about – reducing the effects and stigma of mental illness with every stride, stretch, and session. Moving for your own mental health, while supporting your community’s as well.
