Welcome to the second annual Jogging for Jakey! Last year we raised enough funds to place a handicap swing at the west boat launch at Kensington Metropark. This year all race proceeds will be donated to OUCARES (the Joanne and Ted Lindsay Foundation Autism Outreach Services at Oakland University) in the memory of Jakey Smotherman. OUCARES provides programs and camps for individuals with autism spectrum disorder. Donations will go towards scholarships for individuals that can not afford the program and supplies needed for the camp. If you cant make it, please consider a donation!
Course: The race will start at Bennett Park off of Merrill road. Runners will then head west on Lakeland trails until Pettys and then loop back to Bennet Park. Be advised, this is a new location from last year.
Awards: First overall male and female finisher will receive an award, as well as the top finishers from each age group.
Entry Fee Will Include: A t-shirt (guaranteed to all runners who register by June 18th), post-race snacks, and a raffle drawing for all participants containing gift-cards and gift baskets from local businesses.
Pre registration starts at 830 am to pick up your shirts and sign in!
Dogs on leashes welcome to join!
