2016 No Child Wet Behind

Doulas of Marquette presents the first annual No Child Wet Behind 5K, 1-mile Family Fun Run, and Diaper Drive!

No Child Wet Behind was founded to help provide support to local families by providing diapers for babies and children.

Research shows that:

-46.7 million people in the United States live in poverty

-1 million+ people in Michigan live below the poverty line

-Nearly 20% of families in Marquette County live below the poverty line

Which leads to:

-1 out of 3 families struggling to afford diapers for their child.

When a family struggles to pay for diapers for their child, their child is likely changed less frequently which can cause major diaper rashes/pain, fussier babies/higher stress, and can increase the heartbreaking reality of child abuse and infanticide.

While there are many great programs through our government that are available to help families in poverty, there are NONE that provide diapers.

This is where YOU come in! We cannot do this alone; we need YOUR help!

Doulas of Marquette (www.doulasofmarquette.com), here in the UP, along with 29 other states will join together on May 21, 2016 to run for these babies and families! We will also be collecting diapers at drop off locations before the event; diapers size 0 through size 6 are needed. Size 0-2 will go to to the Women's Center and size 3+ will go to the Marquette County Health Department.
