mud creek crawl

a staple for nearly three decades, the mud creek crawl makes a return to race schedules, this time with barc (richard, specifically) as the director.

we are working with the last two race directors to help provide a continuation of those past races: trail running through pine haven recreational area, with some natural challenges on a 5k or 10k course, right around the time when summer officially gives way to autumn.  we'll work with the original race director to make sure we have the same course marked out as was in the past.  unfortunately, for this year, we won't have the handicapping system in place mostly because richard wants to make sure the basics of the race are met before bringing in the more interesting elements.  we should be able to bring the handicapping system back in 2023.

as a reimagining of the event, for promotional purposes, the crawl in "mud creek crawl" has been changed from an action one does on all fours to a creature borne from the mud creek and residing in pine haven.  last year's shirt design was the preface to this local legend; this year's is the beginning of the story with a little more revealed each successive year, or for at least as long as people keep richard as the race director.  the design was done by local artist Jadyn Gould, with the barc and text added on by Jennifer Hodge.  many thanks are given to these two ladies for an excellent start to....The Crawl.

for those who know richard, he hates waste, so he is taking previous years' medals and re-using them, but they won't be pristine; instead they will be reflective of this year's opening storyline.  good or bad, they will stand out from your previous medals in general.  intrigued?  then you better sign up and find out.  more importantly, this keeps the cost of running the event lower than a standard year.   and that benefits everyone.

date and time - saturday, 24sep2022, 10.00 (5k and 10k start at the same time)

cost - $10 for no shirt, $20 with the shirt (for either distance), add another $5 if you wait until raceday to register and suffer a withering glare from richard and take a gamble on whether any shirts will be available for purchase

packet pickup - morning of the event

on-line registration closes - 16sep2022, leaving you only the race day registration as an option (see cost above)
