Date: Saturday, July 7, 2018
Time: Races will start at 10:30 a.m. using a staggered format. Start times will be listed here on our site
Race Rules:
- Racers must be 18 years of age or older.
- No refunds, the event is held rain or shine.
- Participants must wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved PFD at all times of the race.
- Racers are responsible for their own PFD, paddle, and vessel.
- NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES during the race.
- Kayaks must be under 14 feet in length.
- Vessels may be single or tandem canoe, single or double kayak, or single SUP board.
- Failure to abide by the above rules will result in disqualification.
Key Information: The race is three (3) road miles and approximately five (5) river miles. There will be three locations along the course where security boats are stationed. They will be available for assistance and will be recording vessel numbers as they pass these checkpoints. For more information contact Gary Andersen at 231-690-0633.
Race River Etiquette: Slow down 100 feet above and below each angler you encounter and ask which side to pass on.

Check-In: Check-in begins on Saturday, July 7th at the Scottville River Park from 9:00 a.m. until noon. Contestants who fail to check may be disqualified from awards.
Event Fees: $50 for 2-person teams and $25 for single racers. due by Friday, July 6th.

Late Registration: (Saturday, July 7th, the day of event): $60 for two-person teams and $30 for single racers. All 2018 entry applications and fees must be received by July 7th at 10:00 a.m.
Included with Entry:
Paddler’s Breakfast on Saturday, July 7th at the Scottville River Park starting at 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
Lunch will be provided starting at 11:30 a.m. at the Scottville River Park until 2:30 p.m.
Award ceremony at Riverside Park at 1:00 p.m. Awards for each division will be based on the number of participants.
Vessel Numbers: In an effort to assist race officials and spectators in identifying teams, a uniform system of vessel numbers will be established. The numbers will consist of a single sheet applied to the port side of the vessel. The material will be designed for easy removal after the event.
Volunteers: The MCCEF is a volunteer-based organization. The goal of the foundation is to raise funds for Community and MCC Schools. Volunteers are the backbone of the event. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for this race please contact Gary Andersen at 231-690-0633.
Spectators: There is room at the starting point (Custer Bridge) to view racers at the start. Please do not use a vessel on the river during race times.
