GDC Stomp The Stigma 5k

Greater Detroit Coalition is proud to announce that our inaugural Stomp the Stigma 5k will take place September 10th, 2017 at Stoney Creek Metropark at the West Branch West section of the park participants are allowed to complete the 5k by running walking biking or rollerblading. Stigmas associated with mental illnesses are one of the greatest barriers that prevent youth from seeking help. GDC's Stomp the Stigma 5k not only strives to raise mental health awareness but also encourages people to be mentally fit. Proceeds will benefit youth mental health programs serving the tri-county area. 

Greater Detroit Coalition provides Metro-Detroit's youth with leadership and life skills in order to better serve their communities and prepare for life's next steps. The mission of our organization is to advance regional equity through uniting, empowering and educating Metro Detroit's youth. We fulfill this mission through a series of positive youth enrichment and community development program, including but are not limited to, college application assistance, scholarships, sponsoring youth sports teams and extra-curricular activities, as well as running a youth Justice Academy.
