Description
ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 6, 2019, AFIA WILL HOST ITS THIRD “RICE RUN” IN THE MARGARET B. UPTON ARBORETUM IN ST. JOSEPH. THIS YEAR, AFIA CHOSE MENTAL HEALTH AS A CAUSE TO SUPPORT. WE BELIEVE THAT SPREADING AWARENESS OF MENTAL HEALTH REDUCES STIGMA AND ENCOURAGES EARLY INTERVENTION, WHICH IN TURN RESULTS IN MORE SUCCESSFUL RECOVERY. AFIA’S MAIN FOCUS WILL BE TO SPREAD AWARENESS AS WELL AS TO PROVIDE RESOURCES TO NEAR CENTER FOR MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT. PROCEEDS FROM THE RICE RUN WILL BE DONATED TO THE CAUSE.
