Description
Traverse City Track Club (TCTC) presents a FREE clinic to help you tweak your running shoes to provide more traction on snow and ice and keep you running and walking outside throughout the winter, on December 14th at the NORTE Wheelhouse at 8:00 A.M.
TCTC Member Katie Armstrong will share her experience with the benefits of adding small flathead screws to the inside of a running shoe sole to create a spike that grips into snow and ice. This is the second year of the clinic that was well attended by runners and walkers last winter.
The Free clinic includes supplies and is provided inside the warmth of the Norte Wheelhouse (the orange building at the northeast corner of the Civic Center quad). The clinic lasts approximately 30 minutes.
Participants should Bring: an “old-ish” pair of running shoes, i.e. not your brand-new ones, but shoes that have some miles left in them. Something with a fair bit of foam and/or tread would be best. This will not work with minimalist shoes.
This TCTC clinic is FREE, but to help with planning for supplies, please sign up.
Stay afterwards for a family-friendly fun run with Norte’s Run Sabados which meets at the Wheelhouse and starts at 9:00 a.m. for a run of any pace or distance with friends.
