Description
There will be a 5K event for individuals or families to walk or run. Following the 5K, a children's 1/2 mile and mile race will take place. Each child will recieve an award. The Teddy Bear Band will finish the event with a concert focusing on physical fitness and nutrition.
Oneka and Hugo Elementary School are sponsoring this event to bring the community together, empasize the importance of physical fitness to our students, and to raise money for our new recess program. We will be implementing the "Six Steps to a Trouble Free Playground" at the begininng of the 2011 - 2012 school year. With this new program (which teaches students self-responsibility, guides inclusive play, and makes recess a time to build social skills) we are in need of recess kits for each classroom.

T-shirt Information
One t-shirt will be included in the price of the event. Each additional shirt is $5.00. If you register for the family 5K event you will receive 1 t-shirt. You have the option to order additional shirts for each person in the family by clicking on the "store" tab. You must pre-register by August 20th to receive a t-shirt.
