We're going VIRTUAL!
Hello Racers!
We've got some sad (yet expected) news- due to coronavirus, this year's in-person Winona Beer Run 5k & .05k is canceled. We hope you and your family are staying healthy and well. We're bummed just like you, but the health of our community and loved ones is a priority. But we can still have fun safely! This year's event will be a virtual beer run.
What does that mean? It means you get to complete your 3.1 miles or 54-yard dash on your own schedule, in your own safe location. Want to add a beer stop on your run? Go for it! Want to add some challenges within your beer run? Good luck! Want to do a Beer Marathon? Who are we to stop you!?

What about the swag? Don't worry- you'll still get the great swag, including your hooded sweatshirt and beer at Island City. We are still working on the other details with our local partners, so stay tuned for updates in the next couple of weeks. Shipping cost is included in your registration fee.
Already registered? A couple of things for you to do: 1) Verify the address on your registration. We'll be mailing those items in August to the address on your account. 2) Check your hoodie size! Since we cannot have a food drive Winona Volunteer Services, we will be sending an additional monetary donation to their organization.
This is a confusing and challenging time for all of us. We don't know what lies in the coming weeks, but we know that Minnesota is amazing, and no matter what, the good will shine. Look for the helpers...be a helper. If you have the means, buy gift cards from local restaurants, support your Mom and Pop shops with online shopping, donate to organizations that need it, and check in on your neighbors and loved ones.

Let's still have fun! Show us your best version of the Beer Run, in your own safe and socially distant location. All race packets will be shipped to your home and results are easy to submit- just visit runsignup.com/winonabeerrun/results to send them in!
Results can be submitted beginning August 25.

Dogs and Strollers
It's virtual! Bring your kids, bring your dogs! Our only requirement is you stay 6' from your neighbors :-)
Cancellation & COVID-19
Both on and off the course, the safety and well-being of our racers, volunteers, and staff is our highest priority. In our ever-changing world surrounding COVID-19 and the race industry, we take it day by day. Our summer and fall races are still scheduled to go on at this time. The endurance sports industry is working closely together to communicate all future actions.
In the event that we must cancel any upcoming in-person races, we will pivot to a virtual race. Due to all the upfront costs associated with event planning, refunds will not be provided. Your race packets will be mailed directly to the address on your account or we will arrange pick-up/drop-off at another time only if we switch to a virtual event.

Transfers
You may transfer your registration to another participant, or to another event, from your account on Run Sign Up, up until the day of the event.
1) Log in on Runsignup.com
2) Click "Profile" on the top right-hand side of the page
3) Click "Manage Registration" under the "Upcoming Events" section in the middle of the page
4) Transfer Event or Transfer to Another Runner (Depending on your chosen option- listed at the top of the page on the top right)
