Pride of Capital City Band on the Run 5K

Where is Band on the Run?

The virtual race allows all Band on the Run participants to compete anywhere, anytime.  The course may be completed on a treadmill, track, or cross country in any town, state or country!

When is Band on the Run?

Band on the Run is virtual 5K walk/run completed anytime between March 1 and March 31, 2021.  After completing the race, runners/walkers will return to the race website to enter their results.

And now for the "why?"

"Public school band programs should be accessible to all students and additional band fees should never be a barrier to participation," Pride of Capital City Band Director, Kevin Blair.  

While the public school system fund the marching band, additional funds are needed to produce an award winning show.  Historically, these expenses have been paid through additional student fees and the additional student fees can be a deterrent for some musicians.  The Capital City Band Boosters provide the financial support to -keep these fees low-to-no cost to students.   

Capital City Band Boosters is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation formed in 2019 whose primary purposes are to promote and encourage education and participation of the activities of the Capital City Band Program.  Our goals are to provide financial support, encourage all students to achieve excellence in the art of music, give support to the band directors and all members of the band, and promote awareness in the community of their achievements.

All donations will go to the Capital City Band Boosters to support the Capital City High School Band Programs in Jefferson City, Missouri.
