National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week is held each year in November the week before Thanksgiving. This year the Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week is observed November 11 - 18, 2023. The Back Bay Mission's Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Bike/Run/Walk is designed to help educate communities and draw attention to the injustices of poverty. Back Bay Mission hopes to bring communities together to work towards a world where no one has to experience Hunger and Homelessness! Please join us in person or virtually!! Participation is FREE!!!! Bike/Run/Walk the WAY you choose! In person bikers/runners/walkers; the fun bike/run/walk event will start at 7:30 a.m. at Point Cadet Plaza in Biloxi on Saturday, November 4th. The announcements will be made at 8:00 a.m. with the bikers starting off the festivities following the announcements followed by the runners and walkers. You are in control and can decide how far and long you would like to bike/walk/run. We will have signs to show the distances around the circle. Bikers will be led by Biloxi Bicycle Works! You will have a choice of 11 miles or 7.5 miles. In person bicyclist will be capped at 100 riders. We will be taking some candid pictures to share in the event or you can upload a picture of you or your group. Virtual bikers/runners/walkers; you decide when you want to walk/run/bike! Sleep in, get an earlier start, walk/run/bike while the sunsets- it is all up to you! It would be great if you took a picture of your location and uploaded them to the event!!
