Death by 10k

The final addition to our 2021 High Level Fun event series, and the third Death By challenge is coming your way! The inaugural Death by 10k will require participants to complete five 10ks over the course of roughly 14 hours, all in the dark and cold, with little to no sleep, on one of the longest (and hopefully coldest) nights of the year. We've also thrown in a few twists to make it a little more challenging! 

The first and last 10k will start at a prescheduled time, while the other three 10ks will start randomly. These 10ks will be announced with a 10 minute warning sometime after each participant has finished the prior 10k. This will require participants to be prepared at any time between 10k legs to start the next leg.

The event will take place from the RunStrong Training Center. Hot food, warm and cold beverages, and lots of snacks will be available throughout the night. You will not go hungry during a RunStrong event. 

Our Training Center will be open, however RunStrong members only will be allowed to sleep and set up "camp" inside, as this space is limited. All participants will be allowed to come in, get food and drink, warm up or dry off, etc. You will have to stay nearby in your car, or in a tent in the green space in front of the training center. Our hope is that we will be able to send a mass text announcing the start of the random 10ks. You will have ten minutes to get ready and must be at the start line for each 10k. We will iron out these details as the event approaches. 

Registrants will receive a shirt and some other cool swag, and finishers will receive a one of a kind custom finisher's award. Registration will be capped at 50, at which point the waitlist will open. People from the waitlist will be invited to register if we decide to expand the field, or if we are made aware that other participants won't be attending.
