SOS Seaside Scuttle (5K)

The SOS Seaside Scuttle will be held in downtown Pass Christian. It begins at War Memorial Park, cuts west on 2nd to St. Paul Ave, turns south on St. Paul and then east on E. Scenic Dr., continue to Lang Rd, and turn north, lastly turn east again on 2nd and finish at War Memorial Park. The race is all for fun and family friendly, so bring your kids and dress in your favorite running outfit or SEArious nautical get-up. This is not a certified route. 

The race supports the University of Southern Mississippi's Student Oceanographic Society (SOS), from the Division of Marine science. Funds raised during the race will go to support our annual scholarship, professional development opportunities and social events (like this run!). As an organization our primary aims include: (1) Offering assistance to first year students in the way of regional living information and study help/exam prep. (2) Conduct educational outreach with schools and school children in the greater area (regarding subjects from all fields of oceanography including biology, chemistry, physics, and geology). (3) Provide professional and career advancement opportunities to all students. (4) Provide social opportunities for students and staff.
