How does this Virtual Challenge work?
Easy! Just go for a run, bike, swim, walk, etc. and log your miles under your profile. Continue this throughout the year until you complete your goal.
Can I log miles that I completed before I registered?
Absolutely. You can backdate miles up to Jan 1st. Or if you choose, you can start fresh today!
Can I use a treadmill, elliptical, or stationary bike for my miles?
YES! Road miles and gym miles both count.
Do I have to pick one discipline like running, or can I log multiple disciplines?
You can log multiple disciplines! For example: You go on a run Monday, break out the bike on Wednesday, and put some laps in the pool on Friday, they all count. There is an option to pick an activity each time you log miles.
What's the map feature?
The map is one of our favorite features! As you log your miles you will be able to see how far you've gone with a personal icon on our map. All runs "start" in San Francisco. Then just watch yourself run, bike, swim east! For example the 200 mile challenge ends at Reno and the 2000 mile challenge ends east of Minneapolis. Whoa!
How do I make or join a team?
Teams are available for the 1000 and 2000 mile challenges. Teams will be made up of four members. Just invite your friends, family, or co-workers to make a team. During registration you will be given the choice to create a team. One member will be the administrator and the other three members will join an existing team. What swag do I get for this challenge?
You will get a T-Shirt and finisher medal! You'll also be invited to our private Facebook group where you'll find encouragement, support, and a community of fellow athletes to keep you motivated on your journey. As you log miles you will receive virtual badges celebrating your progress.
When will I receive my swag items?
It depends on when you register. But most people will receive their swag by July 2. We will send you an email and tracking number when we ship your swag.
Do I have to pay for shipping?
Nope! We want to make it easy for you. We will handle shipping costs.
I live outside of the U.S. can I participate in this challenge?
Absolutely! However we can only ship swag to addresses in the U.S. We would love for you to participate but we won't be able to send you a T-Shirt or Finisher Medal.
Do miles from your other events count towards this challenge?
Yes! Miles Monsters will run several events throughout the year. If you sign up for one of our 5k, 10k, Marathons, etc. you can count those miles towards this challenge. Thank you so much for being a member of our Miles Monsters family!
Does part of my registration fee go towards charity?
Yes! We are dedicated to giving back to our community. For this event a portion of our proceeds will be going to Emery's Memory Foundation. In addition we have a donate option. 100% of all donations will go to Emery's Memory Foundation.
