Q: What time does the Mutt Mile Race start?
A:
- Timed race: 9:00 a.m.
- Walk: 9:30 a.m. & 10:00 a.m.
Q: Can I bring my dog?
A: Yes, dogs are welcome for the Walk at 9:30 a.m. or 10:00 a.m. (no retractable leashes). Dogs are not permitted in the Race.
Q: How much does it cost to register?
A: $25 for 18 and older / $10 for 17 and under
Q: Do I need to register my dog?
A: Yes, a Dog Waiver is required at registration if bringing your dog.
Q: How far is the Race?
A: 1 Mile
Q: What is the Race Route?
A: Start on Asbury Rd, run 0.5 miles, loop near West 12th Street, then return to the start/finish line.
Q: Are there prizes for the Race or Walk?
A:
- Race: Yes, prizes will be awarded at 10:30 a.m.
- Walk: No, it’s a relaxing experience with or without your dog.
Q: Will I receive a T-shirt if I register?
A: Yes, for registrations before August 24th. After that, T-shirts are available for purchase ($10 for participants, $20 for non-participants).
Q: What if it rains? Will the event be cancelled?
A: This is a Rain or Shine event. No Refunds. If severe weather occurs, we’ll delay the start until safe conditions return.
Q: When and where is packet pick-up?
A: Packet pick-up is on the morning of the event, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
Q: Are all fitness levels welcome?
A: YES! All fitness levels are encouraged to participate.
Q: Is there a time limit for the mile walk?
A: No, but we encourage completing it in under 30 minutes.
Q: Can I register on race day?
A: Yes, but no guarantees for a shirt or goodie bag.
Q: Will there be Port-a-potties on the course?
A: No, but restrooms will be available at Fit Plus.
Q: Can my family watch the Race or Walk?
A: Yes! Spectators are welcome along the east side of Asbury Rd. Lawn chairs are permitted.
Q: Will there be food vendors?
A: Yes, for purchase. Card or cash accepted.
Q: Can I donate without participating?
A: Yes, donations can be made online or at the event.
Q: Will there be rescue dogs at the event?
A: Yes, the ANNA Shelter will have adoptable dogs at the event.
Q: Can I learn more about Fit Plus at the event?
A: Yes! Fit Plus staff will be available to discuss their programs: Move Fit, Train Fit, Live Fit, and Eat Fit.
Q: Does Fit Plus sell Lululemon apparel?
A: Yes! Fit Plus is the only authorized retailer of Lululemon in Erie. Attendees are encouraged to shop at Fit Plus.
Q: What if I can’t make it? Can I get a refund or defer my registration?
A: No, there are no refunds or transfers for this event.
Q: Will the 1-mile Race be timed?
A: Yes, participants in the Race will receive a race bib at packet pick-up.
Q: Can I leave a drop bag for the race?
A: No, there is no drop bag service.
Q: Can I pick up my award if I leave early?
A: No, we do not mail out awards. You’ll be contacted to arrange pick-up.
Q: Is there a minimum age requirement?
A: Participants 17 and under will need parental consent to participate.
Q: Can I register at packet pick-up?
A: Yes, but no guarantees for a shirt or goodie bag.
Q: Will there be a contingency plan for bad weather?
A:
- Rain: We will delay only if visibility is compromised.
- Lightning: If lightning is detected, the race will be postponed by 30 minutes every time it is spotted.
Q: Where can I park?
A: We have provided a map with designated parking areas. Sheetz will be under construction, and select entrances will be blocked off. Please review the map before your arrival.
