About FAMD
The Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, formed in 1993. Since our inception, we have gained a reputation in Southeast Michigan for our high-quality care and compassion. During their stay with the Friends, animals are given more than shelter; they are given a home.
In 2016, for the fifteenth straight year, we saved 100% of our adoptable animals. We are particularly proud of this achievement and work hard to maintain it every year. For the past 22 years, we’ve been doing just that: helping unwanted animals, rejuvenating their health, and finding them a loving family environment.
We are able to reach this goal because of dedicated staff, volunteers, foster families, and supporters---like you!
