Description
The Y Kid's Marathon has been designed to encourage kids and their families to adopt healthy lifestyles through participation in a run/walk fitness program throughout the summer. This program is non-competitive in nature. Participants do not have to run/walk at a certain speed - they just need to get moving! Each participant will receive an official tracking form which will include not only tracking opportunities for running/walking miles but also tracking opportunities for healthy choices such as drinking water, eating fruits and vegetables, and keeping sharp through the summer by reading books. It is the Y's way to challenge kids in our community to set healthy living goals and do what it takes to get it done.
Kick Off Event: Badin Lake Triathlon Fun Run/Walk on July 6 at 10:00 AM in Badin, NC
Final Mile Event: Strong Communities Fun Run/Walk on August 22 at 8:00 AM in Albemarle, NC
Participants receive:
- Kid's Marathon T-Shirt
- Pedometer
- Kid's Marathon Finisher Medal
- Kid's Marathon Kit with Official Tracker
- Entry into Badin Lake Triathlon Fun Run/Walk
- Entry into Strong Communities Fun Run/Walk
