Description

Jolly Elf Trail Run
The 10th annual Jolly Elf Trail Run presented by McClure Orthodontics will take place on Saturday, December 12, 2015 in a new world class venue: the Wake Med Cross Country Course at Wake Med Soccer Park in Cary, NC. This year's event will include a 5K run, a 1 1/4 mile Fun Run and a Kids' Dash.

Over 750 runners and walkers signed up for this event last year. Alex Roy ran 16:11 to take the overall title. Kristy Smith led the women in 20:30. Brett Howell holds the courses record for the event of 15:48 set in 2012. The women’s course record is held by Julie Rudd (17:44), set in 2009.

Those course records will not be broken as the event has now been moved from Bond Park to WakeMed Soccer Park.

The 1.25 mile Fun Run starts at 9:00 am, the 5K begins at 10 am, and the Kid’s Dash occurs at 11:15 am.

The St. Michael School Jolly Elf Trail Run is also the 13th event in the fourteen-race Second Empire Grand Prix Series. Runners who participate in these races accumulate points and are awarded money and prizes at an awards banquet held at the Second Empire Restaurant in January. For more information on the Series, go to http://www.secondempireseries.com/

The entry fees are $30 for the 5K, $15 for the 1.25 mile, and $8 for the Kid’s Dash. On race day, the fees will be $35, $20 and $10, respectively. T-shirts are guaranteed to all entrants who register by 12/4. After that date they will be “as available.”

Late entrants can register and pre-registered runners can pick up their packets either on Friday, December 11, at the St. Michael’s Conference located at 830 High House Road in Cary from 2-5:30 pm or on race day at the Soccer Park beginning at 7:30 am.
