The 17th annual CPCC Charlotte Skyline Run, one of nine races featured the in the Run for Your Life “Grand Prix” series, will be held on April 28, 2012. An estimated 1500 runners are expected to attend this family fun event which will support CPCC Student Scholarships and other student needs. The Skyline Run will feature four components which include a 5K run, Walk for Health, Family Fun Run and the Charlotte Baby Jogger Championship. Children will enjoy racing in the “Family Fun Run” as well as spending time in the Kids Zone. Other zones include the Health/Fitness and Food Zones where vendors will be on hand to discuss and promote everything from weight management to healthy food products and supplements as well as the hottest trends in running gear.

The top male and female finishers will receive a framed copy of the image of the Charlotte Skyline by renowned photographer Nancy Pierce. There will be awards for the top finishers in all age categories, as well as awards for the top three overall male and female athletes, the top three male Clydesdale and female Athena entries (men greater than 185 lbs.; women greater than 145 lbs.), first place male and female masters (40 and over), and the first male/female Baby Jogger Championship entries. All Fun Run participants receive a ribbon, and the top male and female finishers will receive awards. The top team in each category will receive a gift certificate.
Age categories: 10 & under, 11-13, 14–18, 19–24, 25–29, 30–34, 35–39, 40–44, 45–49, 50–54, 55–59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75–79, 80+
As part of the Run For Your Life 2012 Grand Prix Series, you will be awarded points based on your finish compared to the overall winner for each gender.
Team categories are: Men, Women, and Mixed (minimum one female time included in team total).
Teams are comprised of three or more members and must include a team name when registering. All team members must be eligible for the chosen category. The top three times for each team will automatically be totaled to determine the team’s time and place.
