The DashforDavid 5k is being held in memory of LT David Mark Byrd Remick.
The race will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, which strives to raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members, to help injured service members aid and assist each other, and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.
LT David Mark Byrd Remick, 26, of Beaufort, SC, formerly of Huntersville, NC, went to be with the Lord on February 3, 2014 at his home. He was born on September 3, 1987 in Pulaski Co., Arkansas to Mark Alan Remick and Kathryn Byrd Remick. David was a 2006 graduate of SouthLake Christian Academy and a 2011 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. He went on to serve our country as an officer in the Marine Corps., just completing a tour in Afghanistan. The name David means beloved. He was a beloved son, brother and friend to so many. He was always ready to serve others with a smile and a helping hand.
