Socrates OPA! Road and Trail 5K and Fun Run

Socrates Academy, a North Carolina public charter school will hold its first annual 5k and Fun Run in support of our Capital Campaign and Alex's Lemonade Stand, a national childhood cancer foundation raising funds for research into new treatments and cures for all children battling cancer.
On May 13, 2017 our community will come together at Socrates Academy for a day of fun at our OPA! Festival. The 5K and Fun Run will kick off the festivities for the day, taking you on a unique course of roads into the trails at Colonel Francis Beatty Park ending back at Socrates Academy.

While not required, Greek themed costumes (Spartan warrior, toga, etc.) are encouraged. 

PARKING

Parking will be provided at Image Church, next to Socrates Academy on Weddington Road.

PACKET PICKUP

Packet Pickup will be held Thursday and Friday, May 11 and 12 from 9am until 7pm at Socrates Academy, 3909 Weddington Road, Matthews, NC 28105.  Packets may also be picked up between 7:30am and 8:30am on race day, but we encourage you to pick up your packet early.

ENTRY FEES:

5K: $25 per person through April 29
$30 April 30 - May 12
$35 race day

Student 5K (K-12): $25 per person through April 29
$30 April 30 - May 12
$35 race day
Fun Run: $10 per person through May 12
$15 race day

5K Runners registered by April 29 are guaranteed a swag bag including race t-shirt and GoPlaySave book.

Medals will be awarded to the Top 3 Male and Female Finishers in the following categories:
