Description
Stubborn Girl Mane Attraction 5K/10K 2015 is the 3rd event in our POWER UP series. This will be an all women timed event located at the historic and beautiful campus of Dorothea Dix. Although this is a timed event, participants are not required to keep up with the fastest runners. Participants are encouraged to run, jog, or walk to the finish line. This is your race, your pace, your time.
Stubborn Warrior is a North Carolina based company and part of our ongoing mission is to educate, inspire, and challenge athletes of all ages and abilities to achieve a healthy and fit lifestyle through participation in outdoor health and fitness endeavors. As part of our commitment to being socially responsible this event is in partnership with Wigs for Kids. A portion of the event proceeds up to 10% and 100% of any donations for this non-profit will go to support this worthy cause.
Stubborn Warrior POWER UP Series:
The Stubborn Warrior POWER UP Series is made up of several challenge events held throughout the 2015 year. Most of the events will be timed. While some events will have 5K, 10K runs, others will be mixed medley challenge events. As part of the series, we will be launching our Stubborn Girl events specifically designed for our strong, determined, focused women athletes. Continue to check our Stubborn Warrior website for both Stubborn Warrior and Stubborn Girl events and turn your power on to POWER UP for a fun, purposeful and fit 2015 year.
Location
The Stubborn Girl Mane Attraction 5K/10K event will be held at Dorothea Dix Campus surrounded by ancient oaks and historic buildings right in the heart of downtown Raleigh. The running course will be on both grass and paved road. We anticipate athletes of all levels and abilities to participate in this running event. The Stubborn Girl Mane Attraction 5K/10K is an all women timed event.

This event will begin at 9 am and will continue until all runners have completed the course.

12 and under, 13 - 19, 20 - 29, 30 - 39, 40 - 49, 50 - 59, 60 - 69, 70 and over.

Disclaimer Form
All race participants regardless of age must have a signed Disclaimer Waiver on record before the race starts. Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign the waiver - this includes young children in strollers. Disclaimer forms are available for printout from our website www.stubbornwarrior.com, at early packet pickup and at the race site.
Race Packet Pickup and Late Registration
Race packet pickup and late registration will take place Friday May 22, 2015 at Omega Sports Inc., 314 Crossroads Blvd., Cary, NC 27518 (919) 859-2623 from 10 am - 1 pm and Saturday May 23. 2015 starting at 7am at the Dix campus. Please bring your photo ID for faster processing. Late registration may not guarantee a promotional gift so try and register early. Check ourwebsite www.stubbornwarrior.com for updated information.
Partnered non-profits
A portion of our proceeds from this event will go to support Wigs for Kids. Wigs for Kids focuses on helping children overcome the effects of hair loss due to chemotherapy, radiation therapy, Alopecia, Trichotillomania, burns and other medical issues. Hair loss can erode a child’s self-confidence and limit them from experiencing life the way children should. Wigs for Kids helps children suffering from hair loss look themselves and live their lives. Go to www.wigsforkids.org to find out more about this wonderful non-profit.
We are also continuing our yearlong campaign to collect food items for the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle.
Miscellaneous information:
Parking is free for this event. We encourage participants to arrive at the race site before 8:30 am. Roads leading to the race course will be closed at 8:30 am for the safety of the runners. If you come later, free parking is available a short distance from the race site.
