Description

This patriotic run/walk pays tribute to the first responder heroes of September 11, 2001, as well as to the Triangle area's first responders (firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, and military) who serve, save, and sacrifice on our behalf every day.

The Tunnel to Towers 5k Run/Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001, after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers.

Honor all those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty.

Other components

Activities for children and families will precede the run; post-run, we will have a beer garden featuring locally produced ales, food trucks, and live music ("The Water Between Us," "Six Shots Later")
