Description
Planning on running the Virtual New York City Marathon or just looking for a fun challenge? Join our I Run "New York" endurance challenge. You can run alone or with a team, from anywhere virtually or locally using our suggested route.
Need some additional motivation on "race day"? Run along the Fleet Feet Montclair 13.1 mile course and be on the receiving end of socially distanced cheering zones, motivational signs along the route and special NYC Marathon inspired-photo opps. There will be 3 aid stations with hydration on Sunday, November 1st between 6AM and 2PM. PowerBar will be on the course too with some goodie bags of fuel from 8-12PM.
There are lots of ways to participate; here are the deets:
- First, choose a division. That's right! You can cover either a full marathon or half marathon distance.
- Second, tell us if you are participating as an individual or as a team of 2, 3, or 4 people.
- Third, hit the road! You can run, walk or crawl from anywhere, inside or outside, as long as you log your miles between Friday, October 30th at 6am and Sunday, November 1st at 6pm. Remember your individual mileage or team's total mileage must tally up to the total division distance for which you registered, either 13.1 or 26.2 miles.
Scoring will be based on TOTAL RUN TIME (not elapsed time Summer Shufflers); CompuScore is our official timing company. All scoring will be posted on November 2nd and all place winners will be notified by email. There's also a chance to win some very cool social media challenge prizes sponsored by participating local vendor partners!
All participants will receive a printable bib and a medal (made in the USA) once they complete their challenge. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Toni's Kitchen.
**Disclaimer: Practice social distancing and any other requirements set forth by local, state and federal guidelines. Please avoid gathering as large groups. Medals will be available for store pick up or mailed starting the week of December 7th.**
