Climb to Cure DIPG

This event's purpose is to raise awareness for DIPG throughout the world by climbing one of Monterrey, Mexico's tallest and most well-known peaks, 'La M'. The story of how this event came to be, starts with a young mother, Dana Scatton (18), who was diagnosed with DIPG on December 10th, 2017.

In short, DIPG is one of the worst forms of cancer known today. It is a tumor that forms at the base on the brain stem and is typically diagnosed in children between the ages of 4-7. Roughly 400 children are diagnosed each year in North America and the survival rate is less than 1%. Most don't make it past 4 months following diagnosis.

In the last decade, there has been progression in treating DIPG, however funding does not exist in the traditional norms and there is still no cure.

With your help, teaming up with 'All in To Win', who's mission is to support children with DIPG, childhood cancer or a life threatening illness, we can raise awareness for DIPG, raise funding to support children and families dealing with DIPG, and raise funding for Dana, who is currently receiving treatment in Monterrey, Mexico for DIPG.

Dana was 29 weeks pregnant when she was diagnosed. Since that fateful day, she has completed a full round of radiotherapy and gone through 6 chemotherapy procedures from the IDOI Clinic in Monterrey, Mexico. All while raising a daughter and traveling back and forth from Mexico, California, etc., to meet with various expert oncologists in hopes of finding a cure.

This event will be live streamed through Dana's facebook page, Pray for Dana (link below), with a prayer before, at the top of the mountain, and following the descent. We will also be carrying a 'Cure DIPG' flag, to plant at the top for the entire world to see. There will be a final video of the climb that will get sent to everyone who signed up, donated, or helped make this possible. The video will also get posted to Dana's Facebook page.
