Description

Join the Catskill Recreation Center for our Spring Fling Virtual Run to celebrate spring.  We wanted this run to be accessible to all, so pick your run type:

  • 1-mile Fun Run
  • 5K Run/Walk
  • 10K Run

Since this is a virtual event, you can run from anywhere in the world or if you are in our area, you can run the CRC route, that's filled with all of the beautiful signs of spring. When you register, you'll be able to upload your run times and to see the times of other participants.

Participants have the option to order a Catskill Recreation Center t-shirt to proudly wear during the run. T-shirts are available for PICK UP ONLY, we are not able to ship T-Shirts.

CRC Favorite Running Routes

If you are looking for inspiration for routes you could run, here are some of the CRC's favorite routes to take for each event.  Please be aware of your surroundings when running on roads -- this is a virtual run, so there will not be any supervision when running any of these routes.  Please follow these safe running tips, which apply to running on country roads or on city roads. https://blog.mapmyrun.com/top-running-safety-tips/

Since Spring will be in full bloom during this virtual run, we encourage you to look for some of our favorite signs of spring while you're enjoying your run!

1-Mile Fun Run:

We would recommend you come to the CRC and use our half-mile trail!  To complete your fun run, it would be two full loops on the trail.

5K Run/Walk: Jim Alton Loop

This is our favorite 5K route in the area. You'll get to run or walk on a quiet country road with some beautiful scenery.

10K Run: Margaretville - Dunraven Loop

This route starts on Main Street in Margaretville and is a big loop that finishes on Route 28 and is another one of our favorites.  Beautiful scenery and lots of opportunities to see Spring coming alive in the Catskills.  As this route does take place on Route 28, please follow the safe running tips linked above, as that is a busy stretch of road.
