Bus to Brooklyn Half

Round trip 🚌 bus from the Bronx to Brooklyn Half race start and return from Coney Island to the Bronx 

Join your VCTC team and other local runners on a bus from the Bronx to Brooklyn and back to the Bronx!

Departure from the Bronx: 

Location: handball courts on Broadway just south of 242nd street subway stop *

Time: 4:30-4:45 check-in; 5:00 am departure 

If we have enough runners we will have two buses: one leaving for Brooklyn as soon as it is full (with early wave runners), with both buses leaving no later than 5:00 am; with one bus returning to the Bronx at 11:30 am, the other at 1:00 pm (to be confirmed) to accommodate runners who will be finishing sooner/later and those who want to hang out in Coney Island.

You are welcome to leave your belongings on a bus (and avoid bag check at the start) but remember to collect your things in Coney Island before the earlier bus leaves for Brooklyn if you aren’t on it!

 If we only have enough runners to fill one bus we will determine time of return bus based on runners’ preference. We are asking you when you register if you plan to ride the return bus— just to get a sense of numbers — but this can be flexible if you change your mind! 

Return from Coney Island, Brooklyn Location: Surf Street near 21st street 

Time: 11:30 am and 1:00 pm (TBD) 

Price: One way or round trip 

$35 VCTC members/$40 nonmembers

*please note that parking along Broadway near departure location on Saturdays  is tricky because even though you don’t have to pay for meters on Saturday, there is no parking 7:00-7:30 for street cleaning. You can park farther north on Broadway past the subway entrance and meters..but give yourself extra time to find parking if you intend to drive to the bus.
