2020 Virtual PPTC Turkey Trot - SOLD OUT

About the PPTC Turkey Trot

• One of Brooklyn’s most popular races, this spectacular 5-miler is the perfect way to kick off your holiday season!  
• We are extending the dates for this VIRTUAL RACE from Thursday 11/26 through Sunday 11/29.
• The race will kick-off on Thanksgiving Day:  Thursday, November 26th. You can choose to run the race in Prospect Park (mile markers will be chalked) OR you can run it anywhere but results must be submitted by no later than Sunday, November 29th by 11:59 pm EST.  
• This is a timed race—once you start your run, keep the clock going and time yourself on your chosen 5-mile route. Please remember that while we will be verifying the top times, this race does abide by the honor system!
• All registrants will receive a medal and this year’s edition of PPTC’s toasty Turkey Trot hat in the race packet.  (The last day to register for guaranteed delivery of items is THURSDAY, 11/5. After this date, your items may arrive after the race period.)
• Live results will be posted throughout the race period. If you would like to be eligible for top placement, you will need one of the following two verification methods:
   
  • Link to a site like Strava, Garmin Connect, or another site that records your run. Be sure to set the run to "public" and set it to “race,” so that we can verify it

• • Take a photo or selfie with your time & distance if you're using a treadmill or of your watch if you don't use those programs.  Race directors reserve the right to disqualify any participants from top placement or awards if there are any concerns about the validity of a participant’s time.

Race Packets 

• Packets will include a bib, winter hat, and medal, unless you choose to OPT-OUT during the registration process.  For the continued safety of our volunteers, partners, and participants, we will be mailing out all packets to registered participants.  There will be no in-person pickup option available.

Charity Partner

• As is our Thanksgiving tradition, we are partnering with a local organization that provides social services and community support. This year, registration proceeds will go to PROVIDENCE HOUSE: a Brooklyn shelter for women and children that provides mixed-community housing for adults with a history of chronic homelessness and serious mental illnesses. Providence House is also a housing alternative for women experiencing homelessness who would otherwise be held at Rikers.
