Medals

Medal Distribution

1. All participants will receive a Long Beach Turkey Trot Medal with Lanyard.
Our first shipment of 100  is expected November 25th. They will be reserved on a first come basis (i.e as you register).

2. Steve Jordan has offered the picnic area of Jordan's Lobster Farms for medal distribution (and beer consumption). It may be cold; but we'll see what the response is. All local guidelines for mask wearing, number of people assembling, etc etc will be followed. If you pick up your medal at Jordan's you'll get a FREE BEER! That's simply because the costs incurred in a. printing labels, b. packaging medals, and c. going to the post office can easily be traded for having a beer to celebrate your run.

I will coordinate with Jordan's in the upcoming week and send out a survey of what you, individually, would like:
A. Medal with a Beer and Runners at Jordans
B. Medal with Postage and an Envelope in your Mailbox.
I'll get the date and time-slots and use a survey tool.

3. This site will be updated throughout the event's duration. Check for updates here, or in your e-mail, regarding your medals and distribution.

Thanks for supporting The Long Beach Soup Kitchen!

Virtual Races and The Long Beach Soup Kitchen

What is a Virtual Race:
A "Virtual Race" can be run (or walked) at any location. You simply 1. Select a distance, 2. Run that distance (anywhere), and 3. Record your time. You can post your time (optional) to see how you performed against other runners at the same distance. Run on a boardwalk, road, trail, or even on a treadmill. Please be respectful of your surroundings and social distancing protocol. This Virtual Race can be completed anytime between November 17 and November 29th. Results are listed by 5 year age groups.

The Long Beach Soup Kitchen:
The Long Beach Soup Kitchen's annual fundraiser was cancelled this year. This is an opportunity for everyone to have fun, get fit, and make a difference in our  community. We've also created a Sweatshirt Collection with over 10 different colors to choose from, T-shirts in 25 different colors, and Beach Towel designs that you can spread out on the beach and tell others of this event and your contribution. All proceeds go the The Soup Kitchen.

The Long Beach Soup Kitchen has been here in Long Beach since 1983 with a mission to help feed the hungry residents  of our barrier island and neighboring communities. With the hard work of its dedicated volunteers, they are able to open their doors daily Monday - Saturday to provide meals for those in need. They serve with dignity, compassion, respect, and without judgement. Their continuing goal is to provide food, nourishment, and support in a clean and safe environment. They need our help to meet their goals and missions.
