What is the 8 States for Maz - Humanity Tour?
Officer Anthony “Maz” Mazurkiewicz of the Rochester Police Department was murdered in the line of duty on July 21st, 2022, doing the job he loved. Due to anti-police sentiment still lingering from the civil unrest and protests of 2020, many believed Officer Mazurkiewicz’s sacrifice had not received the recognition it deserved. Brett Sobieraski was one of those people and set out to change that. At the time of his death, Officer Mazurkiewicz was assigned to the elite Tactical Unit, which has the designator number of “8”. 8 States for Maz was born when Brett set out to run a marathon every day from Florida to New York, through eight states, spreading the word of Officer Mazurkiewicz’s sacrifice while raising money for his family. This is Brett’s story of that run and the countless acts of humanity he witnessed along the way.
All proceeds from the sale of this book go directly to Officer Mazurkiewicz’s family.
