Swigart 5k 2016

Please join us for a 5k (3.1 mile walk or run) to celebrate the life of Dr. Scott Swigart. He was the founder of the Wegmans School of Pharmacy in 2006, where his legacy lives on in the students and faculty at WSOP. He fought a tough battle with pancreatic cancer that lasted through December 2014. We want to show our support for Dean Swigart and for pancreatic cancer research. Please join us or make a contribution to his legacy and pancreatic research. Half of the proceeds go to pancreatic cancer research and the other half to the Swigart Scholarhsip, received by one student each year at the Wegmans School of Pharmacy.

The pharmacy school, Mr. Swigart wrote, "is dedicated to setting ourselves apart from other schools by making teaching a priority, promoting excellence in the classroom, creating a student-centered learning environment and maintaining small class sizes to ensure personalized attention to our students." A sense of community service was instilled by Mr. Swigart that led to teams of faculty and students regularly going on domestic and international medical mission trips to provide free medical service to people in need.
