Bridging Hearts & Minds
Students must do more than learn skills. They need regular opportunities to use such skills in real-life situations so that they are translated into behavior and action. And one of the surest paths between learning skills and living them is service-learning, a potent form of instruction that engages students in meaningful service activities in their communities. Perhaps one of service-learning’s greatest assets is that it can meet the needs of a culturally diverse student population and of students with various skill and ability levels.
We recognize the power inherent in young people to change the world around in positive ways. Our Kids 4 Kids event provides a unique opportunity for youth to initiate and participate in a variety of hands-on service learning projects that teach the value of community involvement and instill the value of civic engagement in children from all socio-economic backgrounds. Whether it's helping one child/family in need or taking on global problems through volunteering and giving, the Kids 4 Kids event gives young people the skills they need to become leaders in their communities and a chance to make their world a better place.
