Taconic Road Runners FDR Park Cross County Run

The Taconic Road Runners Club is excited to announce a new race on our calendar!

On Sunday morning, November 9, the club takes to the trails of Yorktown’s FDR Park for our first cross country race (other than our Holiday Weekend Cross Country Relays) in over 30 years. For those of us who love cross country, a cross country race at FDR on a beautiful fall day makes perfect sense. And in recognition of the club’s continued association with the park (it’s been our “home course” since it was Mohansic State Park), a donation from event proceeds will be made to the park following the event.

Starting and finishing across the flat fields and picnic areas in the park’s main western section near the Taconic State Parkway, the 6K course features almost 2 miles of FDR’s beloved trail system, with the majority of the course run on soft surfaces. 

All participants will receive a pair of commemorative running gloves. Awards will be presented to the top three finishers in each 10 year age group as well as top three overall and masters (40 and over) 3 person teams. 

Race Start at 10:00. Runners should park in Parking Lot 1, with bib pick up in front of the fire at the Concession Building (restrooms) opening at 9:00.
