About Mobile Medical Care (MobileMed)

Mobile Medical Care (MobileMed) is a nonprofit community health center with fixed and mobile clinics throughout Montgomery County. Our mission is to improve the health of low-income residents who face the greatest barriers to care access, and we collaborate in the community to serve hard-to-reach populations. MobileMed has never turned anyone away for inability to pay. MobileMed was designated in 2015 as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), the first and only one based entirely in Montgomery County.

MobileMed delivers accessible primary healthcare to thousands of disadvantaged adults and seniors who might otherwise go without timely care. The pandemic has highlighted some of the disparities impacting our target patient population and created new challenges. MobileMed is committed to being a part of the solution in meeting patients’ needs:

  • We continue to offer COVID-19 vaccinations at our three fixed-site clinics. This Spring we took on an important initiative, a series of community-based vaccine events in collaboration with local organizations, to bring the vaccine to hard-to-reach communities. We are developing our outreach approach to continue promoting and delivering vaccines to those who remain hesitant or lack accessr.

  • We are once again mobile! Our van clinics went on hiatus, and we consolidated services at our fixed sites, where we could best ensure safe conditions. With the vaccine and careful planning, mobile clinics are back serving patients in high-need communities
    .
  • We have expanded our integrated behavioral health services. The pandemic has reinforced the importance of mental health support for our patients. Implementing tele-therapy has further enhanced accessibility within a trusted primary care setting.

  • Comprehensive primary care remains our commitment to our patients. We continue to offer telehealth visits as necessary and work to make our services as accessible to patients as possible. In 2019, we were awarded federal recognition as a Health Center Quality Leader. In our latest satisfaction survey, 96% of patients reported that they were treated respectfully and efficiently.
