Description
A family-friendly 5K event! Run or walk along a scenic, multi-terrain course on the Akron General Wellness Trails. The race begins and ends at Stow City Hall.
Each participant receives a race t-shirt, Subway sandwich, delicious muffin from Main Street Gournet, and access to the finish line wellness fair! Awards will be given to winners in each age group, and raffle prizes will be given out!
Benefits Akron General’s Muffins for Mammograms program, which helps uninsured and underinsured women qualify for a free mammogram.

5K Training Program
Get ready for the Akron General Wellness Walk & Run 5k (September 5) with a six-week 5K training program by Akron General LifeStyles (free with race registration). Participants will meet with a degreed exercise specialist weekly to discuss, plan and monitor their progress and learn about a variety of topics, such as injury prevention, race day preparation and cross training. Attend an informational session July 22, 6 p.m. at Akron General Health & Wellness Center – West, 4125 Medina Rd., Akron. Or, July 23, 6 p.m. at Akron General Health & Wellness Center – Green, 1940 Town Park Blvd., Uniontown. The program begins July 27 and you can attend the educational sessions at any of our Health & Wellness Centers:
