Description

Want to become a better runner? Join Second Sole and Saucony for the inaugural RUN SCHOOL experience!

 

What: A six-week program designed to help runners gain fitness, learn about running, proper form, and injury prevention, and have fun training in a group of like-minded individuals.

When: Monday, August 5 through Sunday, September 15. 

 

Who: Anyone! Whether you are training for a marathon or just want to become a better runner this program is for you!

 

Selecting a Level: There are 2 levels to select from when registering. **Pace should not be considered when selecting a level.** Level 1 will have slightly less volume on long runs and workouts. Participants should be comfortable running 15-20 miles a week and be able to run for 5 miles continuously at a comfortable pace prior to the program. Level 2 will have slightly more reps during workouts and more volume for long runs. Participants should be comfortable running 25-30 miles a week and be able to run for 8 miles continuously at a comfortable pace prior to the program. We accept you signing up for a level as an intention to complete that level, but you are able to flex between groups if you feel it necessary as you progress through the program. 

 

ALL participants will receive a $30 voucher for Saucony shoes, a pair of CEP socks, nutrition from Bonk Breaker and Salt Stick, and a limited edition Run School soft hand T-Shirt.

 

Schedule: Workouts will be run on Tuesdays at 6:00 PM at alternating locations. Long Runs will be run on Sundays at 8:00 AM from Second Sole. Tuesdays will start with a 20-30 minute clinic covering topics from nutrition and hydration to running form and injury prevention. All participants are invited to join Second Sole's group run, every Wednesday at 6:00 PM for recovery miles.

Coaches: 
Mark Lipinsky - Manager at Second Sole, Mark ran 110m High Hurdles for YSU and recently completed the Medina Half Marathon in 1:29:18. Mark likes to focus on running form and mechanics and is planning on running the Columbus Marathon this fall.
Tyler Clark - Tyler completed his senior season running Track and Cross Country for YSU and has run 14:20 for 5K. Tyler enjoys focusing on hydration, nutrition and recovery in his training. Tyler will be running the Columbus Half Marathon in the fall.
