More About Miles Against Melanoma And Our Mission
Miles Against Melanoma is a national organization that began in 2010 in memory of Madison Watts, who at just 18 was diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Melanoma. While she fought with bravery and courage, Maddy lost her battle in May of 2013 at just 19. She is the inspiration behind our local organization. While she is no longer physically present, her memory lives on and her story serves as reminder that melanoma is now a young persons cancer, being the most common for those between the age of 25 and 29. Our community is woefully under-educated about the damaging effects of unsafe sun and UV ray exposure and it is MAMOK's hope to bring more awareness and take action against this far too common disease. Thank you for supporting our mission!
