Description

THE PURPOSE OF THIS 5K

The AAHC 5K for Unity and Justice is more than just a virtual race, it’s a race that connects our community for a far greater purpose! It is to prove that although COVID-19 has impacted our world in a divisive way, as a Council, we are resilient and determined to maintain a solid yet unbreakable connection. It is to prove that no matter the situation, we stand tall as a community to seek change, justice, unity, equality. it is to prove that our community can impact lives outside of our organization spreading far beyond Tinker. It is to prove that the AAHC is more than just a Council, we are a family! While completing this virtual 5k, one mission is to simply.....HAVE FUN! With this, we want each and every single one of our members to be inspired to make and be that change that Tinker and the WORLD needs. Allow this run to be more than just a run, allow this run to be a platform for our voices to be heard, one-step at a time!

So you all may ask: "Where will this race be without winners?" Ahh yes, competition!  We don't want this race just to focus on trying to inspire our brothers and sister to seek forth change and justice, we want this race to be a challenge. That being said, there will be prizes for the two individuals  (one man and one woman) who complete this 5K in the fastest time.   You must use your favorite run app to post your time!

The first 10 individuals who register will receive a free AAHC t-shirt while all other runners receive a different free Supporting Equality t-shirt.

All registrants will also gain access to an exclusive playlist and videos to keep us connected and focused as we complete this race together.

*All proceeds and donations go to assisting the AAHC in sponsoring powerful community events to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Black History Month, and awareness/activism events year-round.  The members of the AAHC do not receive or spend funds for personal gain.*
