This run supports A New Leash On Life, a local 501(c)3 non-profit that serves the state of Oklahoma by changing lives, training dogs.  Our three programs – Service Dogs, Therapy Dogs, and Pen Pals Prison Program – are made possible by those who partner with us and believe, as we do, that the medically disabled, those in need of comfort, or the inmates, prison, and shelters we serve should not have to pay for our services.  To train an ADA-compliant Service Dog costs us $20,000 - $25,000, running our Therapy program is $10,000 per year, and we spend $300 per dog in our Prison program.  Over the last 14 years, our volunteers have raised 173 future Service Dog puppies—65 of them were placed and certified as working Service Dogs. Additionally, we have helped 53 clients train their own Service Dogs. We have trained and certified over 250 Therapy Dog teams—162 actively made 1,432 visits last year, touching over 43,000 Oklahomans. In the last 16 years, our Prison program has trained over 1,100 dogs at two prison—all have been adopted.

The Dog Jog is designed to bring your pups along the race course. The 3K Dog Jog is for runners and walkers with or without their dog. All dogs must be leashed and have current rabies vaccinations. Awards will be given for Best Trick, Owner-Dog Look Alike, Most Enthusiastic, Best Dressed, and more!
