Summer Dragonfly Virtual 5K to Benefit Stillwaters Hospice House

Please join the friends and supporters of Stillwaters Hospice House during the first week of August 2021 by running/walking/biking/hiking/rolling/dancing our First Annual Dragonfly Race! However you choose to move, it is all in the spirit of raising funds and awareness for the on-going development of Stillwaters Hospice House. Our virtual event begins on August 1st and concludes on August 8th, with registration open now. Participants who register before July 15 will have t-shirts and other swag mailed to them prior to race week.

Stillwaters Hospice House is a 401(c)(3) organization who's mission is to create an environment of Comfort, Safety and Dignity for those at the end of life, where physical, spiritual and relational needs can be addressed in a warm and supportive environment, with care provided by trained Hospice Doulas.

It is crucial that people and their loved ones have the care they need at the end of their days. This is often a time of crisis and fear - the person who's days are waning needing physical, emotional and spiritual care - the loved ones who may have no medical or caregiving background scrambling to help with tasks they are unfamiliar with or unprepared for. Community supported hospice houses will meet that need. While hospice agencies  provide medical care and symptom management, they do not provide 24/7 care giving services. Hospice eligible patients can be denied discharge from a hospital in their last days and weeks only because they have no safe place to be cared for during their end-of-life process. Stillwaters Hospice House will be that safe discharge site by providing community supported care, so that question is no longer "How will you pay?" but "How can we help?"
