UPDATE! DUE TO EXTREME HEAT & RELATED CONCERNS, THIS YEAR'S FUN RUN HAS BEEN CANCELED!
With apologies for any and all inconvenience, the 2017 Fun Run 5K Race/Walk has been canceled due to the forecasted extreme heat expected on Friday, August 4th. We are truly sorry, as we were looking forward to an awesome, fun day, with gobs of racers/walkers all coming together for community and celebrating a great cause in Liberty House. In making this decision -- which we don't take lightly -- our Fun Run organizers took advice from our race director, our volunteer director, a track & field coach, and a cross country coach -- all of whom strongly encouraged us to cancel this year's event for safety reasons. Another local race scheduled for Thursday also was just canceled for similar reasons. There are three important things we want to share beyond our disappointment:
1) We intend to fully refund the race registration fees of all participants who want that;
2) Hoopla has committed to making a donation to Liberty House, even without the event happening, as we believe in the cause and the incredible, great work Liberty House does for children and families in our community -- and so hopefully everybody will agree all was not lost this year!; &
3) We fully intend to bring the Fun Run back next year in 2018, and we look forward to seeing you then!
