Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I run/walk?  Anywhere!  This is your virtual run/walk, and we want you to complete it wherever and whenever you want between the dates of January 15, 2023 thru May 31st, 2023.  Go outdoors -- sidewalks, paths, trails, a track.  Stay indoors -- a treadmill is also a great option if you prefer to stay indoors, especially when the weather outside may not be pleasant.  **Note:  If you would like to include bike miles to this run/walk challenge, then the conversion is 3 bike miles = 1 run/walk mile.

What do I need to show proof that I walked or ran a distance?  Most people will be using a fitness app on mobile phone (for example, Runkeeper, Mapmyrun, or Strava), GPS watch, or a premeasured route to measure their distances completed.  A treadmill does it easily for you.  Another option is to go to an open track (~ 4 laps = 1 mile in lane one or inner lane).  You will be recording your miles in the event's RunSignUp Tracker using the Honor System.

Can I count my Fitbit miles? It keeps track of all the steps I make each day No.  You should be counting the distances you cover when you actually go outside to run or walk (except for those on a treadmill).  **Note:  If you would like to include bike miles to this run/walk challenge, then the conversion is 3 bike miles = 1 run/walk mile.

How will you keep track of our distances?  Once you finish your run or walk on a certain day, just go to Runsignup and enter your miles (see instructions above).

Where can family/friends and I look up results?  Go to "Results" tab of Runsignup event website. Under the "Result Set" section, you click on "50 Mile Virtual Challenge", "75 Mile Virtual Challenge", or "100 Mile Virtual Challenge".   *There will be other options under the "Result Set" due to unable to remove them during the editing process, so there will be no results listed under those titles.

This is an amazing challenge!  What is RAA (Regis Athletic Association)?  What is the purpose of RAA?  “The purpose of the Regis Athletic Association is to encourage interest in, and to offer support to, the athletic and physical education programs of Regis High School and to provide ways and means for financing the same.”

To that extent, the Regis Athletic Association (RAA) is a fundraising group dedicated to Regis athletics. That means lower tuition and no sports fees. This allows every student the chance to participate without worrying about cost or having to “pay to play”.

RAA also helps fund certain projects such as the football field grandstand and press box, baseball bleachers, digital camera for taping games, concession stand/baseball press box, and the new baseball home run wood fence.

We also provide manpower for athletic events such as taking gate, running concessions, keeping clock, field preparation, announcing and assisting where needed.
